Sunday was the last Ham and Bacon Shoot of 2016 for the Western Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. It was held at the California Hill Gun Club. We all had a great day and I would like to thank all of the participants and volunteers who came out to make the shoot fantastic.
Although I did not win any of the shoots, I did manage to come in second place a few times. The shotgun, sip n puff trigger and mount, all worked out great to provide a steady shooting platform.

Range
I am not an Olympic shooter. I limit my hunting shots to 200 yards. Most of my shots are well under 150 yards. Each of us have different abilities, and depending on conditions and our preparation, our range limits will change. What range do you feel comfortable taking a shot on game?

My Opinion
This is a dangerous time in America and for that matter the world. Shootings are happening every day in cities across America, police officers are being attacked and are involved in shootings. What should be simple traffic stops are resulting in shootings. It remains to be seen if all of the shootings are justified. However, I support the thousands of great officers on the job, working to protect and serve our needs every day.

Ozark Trail 30 Ounce Tumbler
Last October I did a review of the Yeti 30 Ounce Tumbler and I was blown away with how well it worked. The only problem with the Yeti Tumbler is the $40 price tag.
I recently had the chance to pick up the Ozark Trail 30 Ounce Tumbler from Walmart priced at $9.74. I have to say this Tumbler works just as well at keeping ice in my water all day long, just like the Yeti does. As far as I am concerned this cup is almost identical to the Yeti Tumbler and for the price, the Ozark Trail is an outstanding purchase.
What are your thoughts?

Deer Vitals
It does not matter if you are a seasoned hunter or just starting out as a first year hunter. We all need to be reminded and aware of shot placement. As bowhunters it is even more critical that we are aware of the vitals on the game we pursue.
By now everyone should be practicing, not only shooting field tips but broadheads as well. Good luck and shoot straight.

Rainbow Trout Mount
It's been awhile since I posted, and just wanted to check in with everyone. My friend Chad delivered my rainbow trout this week (21 inches, 5 pounds). I think the taxidermy turned out fantastic and it will look great on my wall.
This trout was caught at the pond in 84 Pa on the Western Pennsylvania Wounded Warrior property. At their 1st annual fishing day, I would like to thank everyone involved and who helped me catch and land this beautiful trout.

First Day Shooting the New Mount
Here is a short video of me shooting four shots with the new mount. The slow motion effects just add to the cool factor. This new mount is easy to get back on target using very little pressure from my chin and arm. I was shooting 1.25 inch groups which are the best I have shot since my injury. Thanks Jesse for the video and your help shooting today!
