Last night my brother and I mounted two scopes. The first one, a Nikon 3x9x50 Pro Staff went on my .243 and the second scope was a Bushnell 3x9x40 Trophy Hunter, it went on my Stoeger shotgun. The Truglo shotgun scope I was going to mount looked cheap and the eye relief was not good for the weaver 93 mount I had.
We used medium (blue) Loctite on all the screws to keep everything locked down tight. The Nikon used regular screws and the Bushnell used allen screws. They were both easy to install. We also bore sighted both scopes using the laser Sightmark.
The next step is getting both rifle and shotgun to the range to complete the sighting in process. I want to do this while the weather is still nice.

Stoeger M3000
This is my new Stoeger shotgun, it is a semi automatic 12 gauge. I have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet but I'm looking forward to getting it set up and taking it to the range soon. This shotgun received great reviews and comes with three chokes including a turkey choke.
I had so much fun shooting pheasants and clay pigeons this year I thought getting a semi automatic shotgun would make things easier next year. Loading a pump shotgun in my adapted brace was difficult and I believe this semi auto will allow me to take a follow-up shot if necessary.
I have the same scope on my Mossberg and it works out really well. I plan on mounting the scope on the new Stoeger and getting it patterned while the weather is still nice. Having a scope on my shotgun really improves my accuracy. I can't wait to take this shotgun to the next ham and bacon shoot sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania wounded warrior group.

Shooting My .243
I was at the Western Pa Wounded Warriors range yesterday shooting my .243 rifle. I was very happy to see that someone had made a new shooting bench. Being a quadriplegic, I use my own brace, but this would be fantastic for an able-bodied shooter or even a paraplegic.
Here is my first shot of the day at 50 yards. I made some adjustments and continued shooting. I used to shoot much better, but I believe I'm doing as well as I can right now. I know with practice I can tighten up my groups.
Here are the results of shooting at 100 yards. I can't wait to go back to the range and get better with the rifle. After my Hog hunt in September, I plan on replacing my scope.

DIY iphone 5 Scope
I worked with a friend to make this low cost iphone 5 scope for a wounded warrior who is blind. His hunting partner can see through his scope and give him directions and when to safely shoot.
It attaches to a scope using a simple hose clamp. We have about $8.00 invested...
What I discovered while testing it on Sunday was, I like it too! This could be used for hunters with mobility issues as well as visually impaired hunters. What are your thoughts?

B Square Mount
I decided to remove my B-Square Mount on my mossberg 535 shotgun. I ordered a Picatinny rail to replace it.
The B-square mount was not secure and would rise on the recoil of my shotgun. I'm not sure I had it installed correctly but the picatinny rail is a cheap (7.00) fix. Taking it to a gunsmith would be much more.
I plan on using the 535 with it's slug barrel for whitetail this fall in Allegheny county, which is shotgun only.

B Square Mount and Scope
I was able to get my B Square mount and True Glo scope mounted on my Mossburg 535 12 gauge tonight. I think it looks great and the eye relife is perfect.
The next step is shooting it in for spring turkey. I am also thinking about camouflaging the gun with spray paint. What are your thoughts on spray painting a shotgun?

Nikon Pro Staff Rifle Scope
I recently ordered a Nikon 3-9x50 rifle scope in anticipation of taking a hunting trip later this fall. I am planning on going to Missouri to hunt whitetailed deer with Dreams Become Reality .
My weapon of choice in the past has always been a compound bow or a crossbow since my injury. I have not hunted with a rifle since the mid-1990s. I plan on mounting this Nikon Pro Staff scope on my Remington 270.
Since it has been quite a few years since I have shot a rifle, I am sure I need to practice and concentrate on the basics of marksmanship. This will require a few trips to the shooting range!
Chris Gillin the CEO of Dreams Become Reality had a very good suggestion the other evening over dinner. He suggested a sip and puff trigger-activator, that would possibly be more accurate than my current BMF type.
If I have the opportunity to take a mature Whitetail at 100 yards or more , I would like every advantage I can have, to make a clean and quick harvest. This scope should provide a good opportunity even in lowlight conditions such as dawn and dusk.
Keep checking back for a full review. Any thoughts on optics?
