That's A Knife, Ka-Bar

I have always liked knives.  Pocket knives, and hunting knives were my favorite types, Swiss Army and Buck being my go to blades of choice. I never owned a Ka-Bar until recently. Here are some thoughts about the legendary knife.

Cost $107.77
Blade Length 7'' overall length 11''
Weight .70lbs
100% Bad Ass

It's made in the USA, but the leather sheath is made in Mexico.  The knife comes very sharp from the factory and will hold that edge if you need to cut down a tree with it.  I applied a coating of snow seal to the sheath which protects the leather.  With this knife, I feel ready for the zombie Apocalypse.

Flashlight For Emergencies

Last night the power was out for several hours because of the storm.  I do not use candles because of the fire risk, I use this great little energizer flashlight.  It clips to my backpack until I need it, then it acts as a lantern in an emergency.  $15.00 well spent if you ask me.

TenPoint Introduces All-Purpose Omni-Nock : The Outdoor Wire

TenPoint Introduces All-Purpose Omni-Nock : The Outdoor Wire

I have not used this new nock from TenPoint yet but it looks good.  I have been using the half moon nock the last several years on a 20'' carbon bolt.

Which nock and arrow combination do you use?

Your Favorite Knife

I believe if you talk with 10 different hunters and asked the question " What is your favorite knife ? " You would probably receive 10 different answers.

When I graduated high school over 25 years ago, I bought a Buck 110 folding knife. I used that knife for years and it quickly became one of my favorites.

After my injury, I gave away almost all of my hunting and camping equipment. So when I decided to return to bow hunting, I had a lot of gear to buy.

When it came to purchasing a knife, it was a no-brainer for me. I bought the Buck 110, the knife made its debut in 1962, carries an unconditional lifetime warranty and I believe is one of the best all-around hunting knives anyone could ask for.
